From lifestyle and recipe blogs to businesses, here’s a sample of what’s on my bookmarks bar!
Yoga & My Awesome Sister
Meet Meg. My beautiful and talented sister is a certified yoga instructor at Wilmington Yoga Center. If you live in or near Wilmington, or ever have the occasion to take a class while you’re in town, go see her! (Class schedules available here!)

A Foodie Stays Fit – in her “lifestyle blog, with a wellness slant”, TeriLyn explores many aspects of herself: running and yoga, her beautiful boxer Maizey, gluten and dairy-free eating, and her frequent hair style/color changes, to name a few. Also, she lives here in Winston Salem, too! Since I’m fairly new to the area, I love her recommendations on happenings around town.
Stella Brew – Matt and Caitlin Bostic opened this retail craft beer, wine, and disc golf shop in September of 2013 in the historic Ardmore neighborhood of Winston Salem. Located in a charming building that used to be a pharmacy, this neighborhood bottle shop has a lot of character and so much to offer. Matt and Caitlin (who are my dear friends) are quite possibly the coolest kids on the block. As if that wasn’t enough, they offer an exceptional showcase of local, seasonal, interesting and delicious brews, an eclectic wine selection, and disc golf goodies including bags, discs, and gear. To top it all off, they host free beer and wine tasting events weekly and the Camel City Grill food truck hangs out in their parking lot some afternoons! You can find my boyfriend Rob and I here at least once a week. Check it out. For real. Do it.
Caitlin Jamison Photography – From engagements and weddings, to individual and family portraits, Caitlin’s ability to capture the emotion of a moment in just the right light is unparalleled. Her site includes her blog, a gallery with samples of her work, and contact information.
(hm, I suppose these are also businesses, yes?)
Chang Thai – With two locations in the Triad, Chang Thai offers the very best sushi in the area from a super-friendly staff. Matt and Caitlin (of Stella Brew and Caitlin Jamison Photography) introduced Rob and I to Chang Thai not long after we moved to Winston, and we love it so. In fact, we go every week! We happen to frequent the Clemmons location, but a second location recently opened in Pfafftown, too!
Mary’s Gourmet Diner – Located at 723 Trade Street, Mary’s is a family-owned & operated restaurant dedicated to local, fresh food. This eclectically decorated spot has been voted the best breakfast & brunch in Winston Salem many times.Try the tempeh Ruben and the vegan biscuits and gravy!
Great Blogs and Recipes for All Things Vegan
